Young Leaders Society hosts Throwback to High School Kickoff Event to Spotlight Early Childhood Education

United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society (YLS) will host their annual kickoff event on August 18 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Drew Wellness Center in Columbia to launch their 2016-2017 focus: early childhood education.

For this year’s kickoff theme “Throwback to High School,” guests are asked to dress their high school best while learning about United Way’s work in the Midlands through fun, interactive high school activities.

The event is open to the public and guests are encouraged to bring a school supply item for children served by United Way programs.

The night will also feature door prizes, including Kanye West concert tickets, throwback music provided by DJ Preach Jacobs and a photo booth that will take guests straight back to school picture day.

Visit ylsmidlands.com for more information and to purchase tickets. YLS Kickoff: Throwback to High School is sponsored by The Land Bank Lofts and YLS Signature Sponsor TD Bank.
