Congressman Joe Wilson announced the promotion of Alex Morris to Deputy District Director of the Second Congressional District of South Carolina, representing Aiken, Barnwell, Lexington, Orangeburg, and Richland counties. The promotion is effective starting January 1, 2017.
Morris has been serving in the Congressman’s Midlands office as Special Assistant since 2012, aiding constituents with military and veterans issues.
“I am grateful for all of the dedicated work Alex Morris has done on behalf of the people of the Second Congressional District. I am confident that he will excel in this new role and will continue his exemplary service on behalf of American families. He will continue the tradition of being accessible and accountable, established by his predecessor, the late Earl Brown.”
Morris will continue to work from the Midlands Congressional Office located at 1700 Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia. As Deputy District Director, he will be taking a more active role in the District, working alongside community and military leaders.
Morris is a 2008 graduate of the Citadel and is a member of the South Carolina National Guard. He is married to Rebekah Morris, and the two are expecting their first child in April.
