Super Bowl Weekend: Where to Watch in Columbia

As the biggest Sunday of the year approaches, making plans to watch the Super Bowl can be challenging in determining where to go with many restaurants and bars offering deals and special viewing experiences. Whether a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, New England Patriots, or just looking to go out and join the crowd, there is a place for you to watch Super Bowl XII with your friends.

The Grand

If you’re looking for a sense of entertainment while viewing the Super Bowl, look no further than Columbia’s new restaurant The Grand. Located at 1621 Main Street, The Grand features a boutique bowling alley with upper-scale dining and a tap room with more than a dozen types of beer on tap, at which you serve yourself with the purchase of a wristband.

Located in the Vista, Hickory Tavern is offering an all you can eat buffet that includes stations for pulled pork sliders, hot dogs, nachos, chicken tenders and desserts for the price of $19.99. Domestic buckets of beer are available for $12.50. With the chance to win wings for a year, there will also be fun games and prizes offered throughout the night. Reservations are being accepted for the special event.

Hickory Tavern

If interested in a very electric atmosphere, Dave and Buster’s off of Harbison Boulevard will be offering two different priced packages for entry into the family-friendly sports bar. With a minimum purchase of $29.00 you will be guaranteed seating, a free buffet including a nacho station, bar burgers, pizza bites, buffalo bites, unlimited coffee, tea and soda while also receiving an entry into a raffle for prizes at halftime. Purchasing the $55.00 package will guarantee everything listed above plus an open bar tab between 6:30-8:30pm. This includes domestic beer, wine and house liquor only. Moriarty’s Irish Pub, located in the Vista is offering a special $5,000 grand prize for those who want to pay a $100 buy-in to play the game provided. The $100 buy-in includes a buffet, free Bud and Miller Light, and most importantly a free square on the big board. At the end of each quarter, there will be big prizes given away and for every change in score, one lucky person will receive their cover charge back. All money raised for this event will go towards PETSinc, a no-kill pet rescue and adoption center located in Columbia, South Carolina.

Wild Wing Cafe in the Vista, is offering $2.00 draft beer with free prize giveaways throughout the night. If you’re lucky enough to score good seats, the bar will be offering free shots during the night at random times.

Pearlz Oyster Bar, is offering a special $15.00 all you can eat wing buffet for those interested in watching the Super Bowl in the Vista.

The Vista’s World of Beer, will be providing its everyday happy hour menu while also offering $15.00 buckets of Oscar Blue. Fun games will be played through the night that will allow a winner to take home a grand prize.

Liberty Tap Room and Grill will be offering special wing trays and platters for the event. The restaurant will also be providing $3.00 Bacardi.

Old Chicago Pizza and Taproom, will be offering $3.00 pints of beer while also supplying $5.00 appetizers throughout the game.
