What’s Happening at Richland Library

Get ready to learn, have some fun and experience what Richland Library is all about. During the last fiscal year, more than 5,000 programs were available to our customers, introducing them to our many resources and connecting them with experts in our community. Here is a look at some of the featured events, planned for the coming week:

Gift & Luggage Tag Crafting

Date: November 29, 2016

Time: 3 – 5 PM

Location: Richland Library Main, Studio 220         

Come and make fun duct-taped gift or luggage tags with us. Just in time for the holidays, we’ll help you get ready for seasonal travel & gift-giving.

DIY Tacky Holiday Sweater

Date: November 29, 2016

Time: 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Location: Richland Library Main, Makerspace

Be the hit of the party and this year’s Ugly Sweater Contest winner. B.Y.O.S. – Bring Your Own Sweater, we’ll supply the rest.   

 

Bath Fizzes

Date: November 30, 2016

Time: 10 AM – 12 PM

Location: Richland Library Main, Makerspace

Resume Help with a Career Coach

Date: November 30, 2016

Time: 2 – 3 PM

Location: Richland Library Eastover

Do you wish you could ask for résumé guidance from a Career Coach without having to make an appointment? Now you can. A Career Coach will be available to answer your individual résumé questions on a first-come, first-served basis.

Teen Drop-In: College Application Assistance

Date: November 30, 2016

Time: 3:30 – 5:30 PM

Location: Richland Library Main, Meeting Space 201

Need help applying for college? The library is here to help. Teen Services staff are available to answer any and all questions- from finding colleges and courses of study to financial aid and application essays. Open to all college-bound teens. 

Learn, Connect, Play: Board Games

Date: November 30, 2016

Time: 4 – 5 PM

Location: Richland Library North Main

Participate in board games and encourage cooperation, problem solving and critical thinking.  

For the Love of Food: Comfort Food

Date: November 30, 2016

Time: 6 – 8 PM

Location: Richland Library Main, Makerspace

What am I supposed to do with all this leftover turkey from Thanksgiving? Well, we are going to use those leftovers to make individual turkey pot pies. Bring your appetite.

 

Garden Like a Master: Holiday Plant Care

Date: December 1, 2016

Time: 7 – 8 PM

Location: Richland Library Sandhills

Learn how to extend the life of your holiday greenery and indoor plants along with how to use them in decorating. Care of poinsettias, Thanksgiving and Christmas cacti and other plants, as well as how to force bulbs such as paperwhites and amaryllis, will be discussed.
