Dr. Hughes-Halbert is the SmartState AT&T Distinguished Endowed Chair in Cancer Equity at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Hollings Cancer Center and is a national leader in health disparities research.
She is a national expert in minority health and health equity as well as cancer prevention and control.

Dr. Hughes-Halbert is the leader of the Cancer Control Program at the Hollings Cancer Center at MUSC, the state’s only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated cancer center.
