Village Square Theatre hosts ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’

Village Square Theatre and Lexington County School District 1 proudly present “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” showing December 8 through December 17, 2017. Show times are Friday and Saturday evening at 7:30pm, Saturday, Dec. 8 at 10:00am and Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm.

Laughs abound in this best-selling Christmas classic by Barbara Robinson. “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” follows the outrageous shenanigans of the Herdman siblings, or “the worst kids in the history of the world”. The siblings take over the annual Christmas pageant in a hilarious yet heartwarming tale involving the Three Wise Men, a ham, scared shepherds, and six rowdy kids.

Ralph, Imogene, Leroy, Claude, Ollie, and Gladys Herdman are an awful bunch. They set fire to Fred Shoemaker’s toolshed, blackmailed Wanda Pierce to get her charm bracelet, and smacked Alice Wendleken across the head. And that is just the start! When the Herdman’s show up at church for the free snacks and suddenly take over the Christmas pageant, the other kids are shocked. It’s obvious that they’re up to no good, nut Christmas magic is all around the Herdmans who have never heard the Christmas story before and start to reimagine it their own way. This year’s pageant is definitely like no other, but maybe that’s exactly what makes it special.

Tickets are $18.00 for adults, $16.00 for seniors and $14 for youth may be purchased online at www.villagesquaretheatre.com.
