Two Midlands Technical College Students named 2016 Rudolph Canzater Scholars

Two Midlands Technical College students who started this fall as freshman recently received scholarships of more than $1,000 each to attend MTC. The James E. Clyburn Research and Scholarship Foundation named the MTC students as 2016 Rudolph Canzater Scholars.

Shanajee Devoe of Allendale-Fairfax High School in Fairfax, SC, and Kaela Clark of Richland Northeast High School in Columbia both received their awards at a ceremony held at the Santee Conference Center in Santee, South Carolina as part of the annual Rudolph Canzater Memorial Golf Classic.

The foundation awards need-based scholarships to students living in South Carolina’s sixth congressional district of which Congressman James E. Clyburn represents.

Devoe and Clark each received $1,000 for up to 4 years, a Dell laptop along with the Microsoft Office package. They also received a book bag full of items and a copy of Congressman Clyburn’s book Blessed Experiences.
