Cayce,S.C. – The West Metro Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Center announced last night that it’s officially changed its name to the “Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber & Visitor Center.
The name and new logo was unveiled to its members last night at its annual dinner held at Embassy Suites. “The new name didn’t come as a shock to a lot of the members but we had a special video made to show at the dinner to celebrate the name we hope will be more easily recognizable in the business community,” said Gregg Pinner, President & CEO of the chamber of commerce.
When the chamber was formed in 1958, it was named the Greater West Columbia-Cayce Chamber of Commerce but changed it’s name to West Metro Chamber of Commerce in 1989 to reflect a more regional approach. While members of the chamber understand what is considered “West Metro”, the name never took hold in the Midlands and many didn’t associate the name with the Cayce – West Columbia area. “We changed the name but we are the same fun-loving chamber we have always been, we just hope the community will better identify us with the new name,” Pinner said.
The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1958 and has been connecting businesses for 56 years. Its members refer to the chamber as the alternative solution for your local chamber. They are located at 1006 12th Street in Cayce. Their new website is www.cwcchamber.com.
