With art supplies and imagination, three White Knoll Elementary students challenged people to live healthier and take care of their hearts.

The American Heart Association asked students to draw what healthy eating looks like to them for an annual art contest. Multiple WKES students submitted pieces, with three earning prizes.

Jayda A. Williams won first place overall for the Midlands region, while Jennifer G. Flores and Evan D. Sumner received prizes for being finalists.

All three WKES winners received an art set, and Williams’ classmates will also receive the opportunity to learn how to plant and grow vegetables.
