St. Pat’s in Five Points Kicks Off with Dye and Dancing

On Friday, March 3rd, from 5:30pm until 6:30pm, the Fountain Division of W.P. Law and the Five Points community will welcome the green and Gaelic season with a free event for people of all ages at the Five Points fountain (at the intersection of Harden and Greene Streets).

Annually, hundreds of little leprechauns and their much taller chaperons participate in the Official Kick-Off to St. Pat’s, highlighted by:

  • The tradition of dyeing the fountain green
  • Entertainment from the nationally award winning Rince N’ah Eireann Irish step dancers
  • Bagpipers in traditional Irish garb
  • Emerald’s Artistry face painting
  • Musical stylings of DJ Blake Arambula
  • Kudzu Queens

The Fountain Division of W.P. Law’s Official Kick-Off to St. Pat’s will precede the 35thAnnual St. Pat’s in Five Points, one of the largest St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in the southeast, to take place on Saturday, March 18th. Annually, St. Pat’s in Five Points welcomes over 45,000 people living the luck of the Irish and celebrating all things Gaelic. Continually growing and improving, the 2017 festival will feature the Get To The Green 15K/10K/5K/1-Mile Family Fun Run, annual parade, kid-approved Pot O’ Gold Playland, a silent disco, a craft beer tasting room, as well as five stages hosting 25 live musical acts throughout the day.
