Richland Library Northeast to Host Plan Reveal

Columbia, SC– The future of Richland Library Northeast is about to be on display. From Monday, April 10 to Friday, April 21, the community can stop by the Northeast location (7490 Parklane Road) during normal business hours and look over details of the upcoming construction project.

During the informal plan reveal, renderings, floor plans and design materials are going to be onsite. Customers can see and feel how their input helped shape the renovation and reconfiguration of the 15,000 square-foot building as well as the nearly 1,000 square-foot addition. They can also interact with staff and ask any questions that they may have about the project.

It is the first time that any improvements have been made to Richland Library Northeast since the building first opened in 1986. Customers can look forward to utilizing a teaching kitchen, additional meeting spaces and a larger children’s room. There are also plans to include more comfortable seating and enhancements to the building’s exterior.

The upgrades are part of a nearly $4 million project that is planned for Richland Library Northeast, made possible by Richland County residents who passed a $59 million bond referendum back in 2013.
