Richland County Transportation Penny Program Announces Public Meeting for Blythewood Road Widening Project

The Richland County Transportation Penny Program will hold a public meeting to discuss the Blythewood Road widening project. The proposed project includes widening Blythewood Road from Muller Road to Interstate 77.

The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about and comment on the various design options for the road widening project. Engineers with the Penny Program have designed various options for travelers including widening the roadway to three and five lanes along Blythewood Road and alternatives for pedestrian and bike accommodations.

Information on the Blythewood Road widening can be found at http://www.richlandpenny.com. The public is encouraged to attend and leave comments at the meeting. Citizens can also review the website and obtain a copy of the comment card and send electronically or by mail.
