Redesigned Utility Bills Coming in August

Outsourcing Will Lower Costs and Keep Citizens Better Informed

BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, SC – The Town of Batesburg-Leesville Department of Public Works will outsource the printing and mailing of utility bills for the town’s 2,900 customers. The new bills will hit customer mailboxes starting August 1st.

Town Manager, Ted Luckadoo, “Anytime we can save money and staff time and provide a more detailed, easy- to-read bill for our customers, it is an easy decision for us. This is just one additional area where we are working to become more efficient and effective. Keeping costs low for our citizens and customers and keeping them informed is one of our top priorities.”

Professional Mail Services Inc., a billing company with more than 30 years of experience, was selected to print and mail utility bills for the Town. The Town will be able to take advantage of bulk and pre-sort discounts to save money and include additional features to keep the public informed.

The new bills, which will consist of a tri-folded single-sided printed page with a detachable stub, will accompany a return envelope for easy mailing or drop off. All of the information contained within the bills will remain the same, with just a new look and feel. Customers will still be able to make payments online, in-person, or by mail. One new feature, however, will allow the Town to add inserts or have notices printed directly on the bills therefore increasing the flow of communication.
