Pelion High student sings her way to all-state

Pelion High Sophomore Ella M. Mincey earned a spot in the 2018 All-State Chorus sponsored by the South Carolina Music Educators Association.

Fourteen PHS chorus members auditioned for the SCMEA All-State Chorus on November 6. Students performed a prepared selection in quintets and sight-read a solo melody.

Selected as an alto, Mincey will participate in the All-State Chorus Weekend at Winthrop University from March 1–3, 2018. As part of the All-State Mixed Choir, she will learn under the direction of Dr. Betsy Cook Weber from the University of Houston.

The PHS Choral Program is under the direction of David G. Stephenson, PH.D. For future announcements, follow the program on Twitter @Pelion_Choirs, Instagram @pelionchoirs and on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/pelionchoirs/.
