(Columbia, SC) Columbia Business Monthly has recognized Midlands Technical College President Dr. Ronald L. Rhames as one of the top 50 most influential people in the Midlands of 2015.
Dr. Rhames is Midlands Technical College’s first alumnus president, and he is the first person to graduate from a South Carolina technical college and later become its president.
Each year, Columbia Business Monthly recognizes people in the Midlands who make things happen in the areas of business, government, nonprofits, sports, the arts, and healthcare. They use a variety of sources to compile their annual list including nominations from the community, news reports, and meticulous research.
“It’s a great honor to be among the most influential people in this community,” said Rhames. “MTC is a life changing institution, and I’m proud to count myself among the thousands of alumni who are out there making the Midlands a better place to live and work.”
Dr. Rhames earned his associate degree in business management from MTC and went on to study at Benedict College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in economics. He earned his Master’s Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University and Doctorate in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
