McDaniels Subaru of Columbia Presents: Pawmetto Lifeline’s 2018 Bark To The Park

Dogs will be trotting in tutus at Pawmetto Lifeline’s10th Annual Bark To The Park walk for the homeless pets on Saturday, April 14, at Finlay Park in downtown Columbia. McDaniels Subaru of Columbia will once again present and lead the walk with an official pace car and front seat honors will go to Stella, this year’s chair dog.

Bark to the Park is a fun, family event which raises money to help save homeless pets across the Midlands. Dogs and their people friends are invited to participate in a 1.5 mile fun walk and after paw-ty. Those who cannot participate in the walk can still support Pawmetto Lifeline’s life-saving programs by signing up as virtual walkers and raising money to help our homeless pets. Participants are encouraged to dress it up with festive costumes. Tutus for dog walkers and their humans, as well as cat ears for feline-loving participants, will be available for purchase at registration.

Participants are encouraged to form teams or sign up individually, and collect monetary donations from now until the walk to support Pawmetto Lifeline. Fundraising incentives such as jackets for each person that raises $1,000, cute pullovers for each person that raises $100 in the last ten days and drawings for much desired gift cards encourage fundraising and giving all for a great cause, homeless pets. A winner will be selected for a three-night stay at a mountain home in Warne, N.C. from participants raising more than $2,500.

Walk registration will begin at 9 a.m. near the corner of Laurel and Assembly streets, with the 1.5 mile walk starting at 10:30 a.m. led by the City of Columbia’s Police K9 unit. Participating walkers and their dogs will strut their stuff through downtown Columbia along a route that will take them back to Finlay Park. Cocky will be visiting with walkers along the route. After the walk, participants can enjoy snacks, drinks, beer and wine, shows from K9s in Flight and animal contests in the park. DJ Marty B will be entertaining the crowd. An awards ceremony will be held after the walk recognizing Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Look Alike and Best In Show and the event’s top fundraisers.

Bark to the Park will be held at Finlay Park located at 930 Laurel Street, Columbia, SC, 29201. For more information, visit www.barktothepark.com. For assistance in forming a team, please contact Laura Baker at (803) 465-9174 or lbaker@pawmettolifeline.org.
