Make Your Health a Priority This Holiday Season

Columbia, SC– It’s known as the most wonderful time of the year with festivities, family and food. With that joy can also come added pressure, which is why Richland Library is teaming with Palmetto Health for the Healthy Living series.
Make your health a priority this holiday season. We’re offering four, free programs at our Main location (1431 Assembly Street) between November and January. They focus on everything from temptation and splurging to stress and loneliness.
Please join us for the following:
6 – 7 p.m., Thursday, November 15
On average, researchers say Americans gain one to two pounds over the holiday season. Get tips on how to pay attention to what you’re eating and make small changes that can yield results.Beat the Holiday Blues
6 – 7 p.m., Thursday, December 6
Holiday stress can put a damper on your holidays and hurt your health. Learn how to decrease your stress by being realistic, planning ahead and seeking support.

Sugar and You!
6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, December 18
Sugar or artificial sweetener, which should you use? Learn the different sources of sugar and understand how it effects your appetite.

Setting Realistic New Year’s Goals
6 – 7 p.m., Tuesday, January 8
Learn how to get your house in order and to identify what you want to accomplish this season.

All four programs are free and open to the public. We do ask that you register online in advance.
