On Friday, May 19, 2017, the Lexington Police Department completed their fundraising efforts for their Relay For Life team and exceeded their goal of $3,000 to support the American Cancer Society by raising over $4,000.
Over the course of last week there were several fundraising events with officers collecting donations at Chick-fil-A of Lexington and Chick-fil-A Saluda Pointe along with the raffle of a Yeti Hopper 30 cooler which was donated by Carolina Turfgrass and Landscape Supply in Lexington.
A total of 200 raffle tickets were sold for the Yeti Hopper cooler which yielded $2,000 in donations and another $2,068 was donated to the Lexington Police Department team through the course of the fundraising events and at the Relay For Life event on Friday evening at the Lexington High School.
“The success of our Relay For Life team came from not only generous giving from the Town of Lexington community but also strong and ongoing partnerships with Chick-fil-A of Lexington, Chick-fil-A Saluda Pointe, and Carolina Turfgrass and Landscape Supply,” said Chief Terrence Green. “Having community partners like this make our work in fundraising always go so much smoother which works to the benefit of a worthy cause with the American Cancer Society.”
