LEXINGTON — Members of the Lake Murray Live! news team experienced what it’s like to broadcast live thanks to a local television station.

Lake Murray Elementary Media Specialist Nan A. Ocheltree arranged for fifth-graders on the Lake Murray Live news team to visit the WIS-TV studios on Thursday, April 6. Students watched the noon broadcast from the studio in Columbia.

This year’s news team includes Riley E. Barron, Alyssa M. Carpenter, Jackson C. Burton, Andrew P. Mitchell, Keppley W. Mulligan, Brunson L. Price, Emma F. Taylor and C. Bryce Watson

While touring the production room, studio and the newsroom, students were able to interview the production crew and news team. They learned LMES’s news show equipment does exactly what WIS-TV’s does, only on a smaller scale.
