Lexington Sheriff’s Department Raises Money for Special Olympics

Deputies will sell tickets in advance for whole pork Boston Butts that deputies will barbeque at a cost of $40 each. Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the whole Boston Butts, which will have a pre-cooked weight of between 10 pounds and 15 pounds, will be available for pickup between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, April 11 at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington. Tickets can be purchased from resident deputies and school resource officers. Citizens who have questions concerning the Cook a Pig fund raiser can contact Sgt. Lee Barrett at his office at (803) 785-0615 or via email at lbarrett@lcsd.sc.gov.

All proceeds from the Cook a Pig fund raiser will benefit South Carolina Special Olympics, Metts said. The event reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County.
