Gilbert Middle robotics team competes at regionals

Students from Gilbert Middle traveled to their first robotics competition of 2018, finishing in the top 12.

The Einstein Tribe Robotics Team represented GMS at the FIRST Lego League Columbia Qualifier on January 6 at Meadow Glen Middle School.

This season’s FIRST Lego League theme, “HYDRO DYNAMICS,” challenged students to solve real-world problems around the ideas of transporting, using and disposing of water.

Judges scored teams in the three categories of Robot Game, Project and Core Values. The Einstein Tribe Robotics Team finished 12th in the Robot Game category.

Coached by GMS STEM Teacher Anthony C. Bertone and Assistant Coach Edward McGee, members of the Einstein Tribe Robotics Team include Braden A. DuBois, Gilbert G. Elkins, Connor H. Layson, Dorian G. Parriott, Nathaniel W. Patterson and Damon L. Ratliff.
