GILBERT — Gilbert High welcomes a new faculty member ready to lead the school’s talented musicians. Craig Coelho will be GHS’s new choral director beginning with the 2017–2018 school year.

Coelho, who currently serves as director of choirs at Irmo High School, began his career in 2012 as choral director at South Aiken High School.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Music in music education, Coelho is a member of the American Choral Directors Association, National Association for Music Education, South Carolina Music Educators Association and Palmetto State Teachers Association.

Coelho served as past chair of the South Carolina ACDA High School Repertoire and Resources Committee and past coordinator for South Carolina Music Educators Association All-State Chorus Weekend.
