GILBERT — Judges had a difficult time choosing the very best artwork created by Gilbert Elementary School students.

Students submitted original work for the 2017 Lexington County Peach Festival. Sponsored by Michelin, the annual contest is open to students in Gilbert-area schools.

First-, second- and third-place winners in various age groups receive prizes. First-place winners from Gilbert Elementary include Third-Grader Sophia C. Parriott, Fourth-Grader Sawyer N. White and Fifth-Grader Kinlee N. Mozley.

Third-Grader Jewel A. Stockman, Fourth-Grader Desireé H. Kinard and Fifth-Grader Lizzet J. Martinez won second-place awards, while Third-Graders Mackenzie L. Tate and Leo A. Iniguez, Fourth-Grader Eva K. Berry, and Fifth-Grader Lily A. Price earned third place for their artwork.

The Lexington County Peach Festival will be held Tuesday, July 4.
