Five Points & Devine Street Team Up With Children’s Trust of SC to Promote Child Abuse Awareness

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Five Points Association and the Devine Street Association have teamed up with Children’s Trust of South Carolina to place hundreds of blue pinwheels in their districts to promote awareness of Child Abuse Prevention Month. Held every April, Child Abuse Prevention Month is nationally designated to acknowledge the importance of communities working together, and the strategies that can be used to prevent child abuse and neglect.

These blue pinwheels symbolize the carefree spirit of childhood and are used to draw attention to the solution and prevention of child abuse. These pinwheels, along with informational signs, will be placed in various locations in Five Points and along Devine Street.

The locations are:

  • Abacus Planning Group — 2500 Devine Street
  • Five Points Fountain — Harden Street and Saluda Avenue
  • HoFP Gallery — 2828 Devine Street
  • CFD Station #9 — 2847 Devine Street
