Wearable art designer Tabitha Ott was one of the top four artists selected by a juried panel put together by South Carolina Arts Commission after they released a call for artists. Sox participated in the pop-up art show presented recently by Woodforest National Bank and the North Columbia Business Association. An Orangeburg native, Ott makes every piece by hand using recycled materials that she finds anywhere from discarded children’s toys to abandoned items from closed-down businesses. Ott sat down with Midlands Anchor for an interview explaining where she finds the inspiration to create her pieces. “Sometimes it’s from the material itself…I find things on the street, I find things in thrift stores,” she explained.
