As a part of its “Working Together Works” conference series, the South Carolina Commission for Minority Affairs is hosting multicultural regional meetings across the state to address issues of poverty and deprivation. We are pleased that the Allen University Willie E. Johnson Conference Center (Mattie & Roger Scott Room), located at 2300 Taylor Street, Columbia, SC 29204, will host a “Let’s Talk” sessionon Thursday, September, 14, 2017, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.
Members of communities across the state’s seven congressional districts are invited to join the discussion about issues of poverty and deprivation plaguing our communities and how we may successfully address those issues. Important information about poverty and deprivation across our state and how are communities are impacted will be disseminated.
It is urgent that you let your voice be heard during this “Let’s Talk” session and that you help determine what actions will be taken to alleviate the causes and the devastating effects of poverty and deprivation in your community. Therefore, I urge you to make every effort to participate in this important process.
