Electric Guard Dog, the market leader in electric security fences and perimeter security, announced they will expand their current Columbia area operations and relocate to the Innovation Center in USC’s Horizon II Building. They currently employ 60 people locally, and plan to double their size over the next year.
“We chose to move to get the space we needed to accommodate the major increase in support staff we’ve made,” said Jack DeMao, CEO of Electric Guard Dog. “The Innovation Center has the capacity for our continued growth, and the proximity and relationship the building has with the University of South Carolina enables us to offer internships and job opportunities to students and graduates. This is a great strategic move for our customers, too. They will reap the benefits from increases in technology, speed and dexterity available at Electric Guard Dog in 2017 and in years to come.”
“We’re excited that Electric Guard Dog is expanding to the Innovation Center, the newest 110,000 square foot premier office building in downtown Columbia,” said City of Columbia Mayor Steve Benjamin. “Their decision to move their operations into our urban core reflects the ongoing growth of our City into a hub for business and world class talent. We’re thrilled to have them in the City and will work to support their continuing expansion and success.”
Electric Guard Dog is the #1 Theft Deterrent Service™ in the U.S. and has been headquartered in Richland County since 1991. They are expected to move into their new office, located on the corner of Assembly and Blossom Streets in the University of South Carolina’s Innovista District, by March 2017.
