COLUMBIA, S.C.– EdVenture Children’s Museum invites all families to attend a night of Halloween fun at the museum’s Halloween Hoopla celebration on Monday, October 31, from 4-8 p.m. This family-friendly Halloween spectacular is open to the public and is free for children 12 years and younger. Surprises await trick or treaters behind more than 10 doors at EdVenture! Halloween Hoopla features a slime machine, pumpkin smashing, a costume contest for the grown-ups and of course, scary amounts of candy. Attendees are invited to be in their best Halloween attire, and even EDDIE®, the world’s largest child, will be showing off his black Halloween mask.
Guests will have a frightfully good time as they enjoy a pumpkin vomit demonstration, experiment with mad science, and make ghastly, ghoulish green slime. There will even be a Pumpkin Pulverizer, used to smash pumpkins outside of the museum entrance. Last, but certainly not least; children will get to experience candy galore with trick-or-treating in a fun and safe environment.
HOT 103.9 and WWDM’s D.J.’s Puff and Prince Ice will provide fun upbeat music for dancing, and Zeus, star player from the Harlem Globetrotters, will perform dribbling and spin contests and will be on hand for autographs and photo opportunities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“Our goal is to create a safe and fun space for families to go on Halloween night,” said Karen Coltrane, president and CEO of EdVenture. “We are excited to recreate the door to door trick-or-treating experience at the museum and are delighted to be able to offer this free for children.”
So put on your best costume, grab friends and family, and join us for an eerie evening of Halloween madness! Halloween Hoopla is FREE for children 12 years and under and $5 for adults. When visiting the museum in groups, EdVenture requires that there is one chaperone (18 years of age or older) per every five children. Adults may wear costumes, but they must be family-friendly and not cover the face. To prepare for the Halloween festivities, EdVenture will close at 2 p.m. on October 31.
