Crafty Feast, The Midlands’ Largest Indie Craft Fair, Provides One-Stop Shopping for Unique, Handmade Goods on Sunday, December 13, 2015, 12 to 6 p.m.

Jury’s Best in Show Award to be Announced Closer to Date

November 30, 2015 (Columbia, S.C.) – Crafty Feast, the Midlands’ largest independent craft fair, will provide “one-stop shopping” when more than 110 juried vendors from across the Southeast will come together to sell their handmade goods at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center in Columbia, S.C. on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 12 to 6 p.m.; admission is $3 and free for kids 10 and under.

In addition to knocking out all holiday shopping in one stop, guests will enjoy a variety of food, beer and wine. DJ Dr. P (Scott Padgett) will be spinning tunes, and Yelp Columbia will host a gift-wrapping station for all your packaging needs. Regionally known artist Amanda Ladymon of Ladybug Studios will lead the interactive family craft table, while local blogger Shanika Pichey of Gather and Craft will guide the adults who are feeling especially crafty in a handmade goods station.

Choosing from more than 250 submissions, five Crafty Feast jurors hand-picked 114 vendors, selecting the most interesting and accomplished applicants to create a notable roster for this year’s fair. The lineup includes more than 42 new vendors. No resellers are allowed at Crafty Feast. This year’s jury has selected a Best in Show, 2nd and 3rd place winner from among the vendors; each will receive a gift certificate to Motor Supply Co. Bistro, and winners will be announced closer to the Dec. 13 event.

Local Vendor Spotlight: January Jewelry, Columbia, S.C.

January Jewelry is returning to Crafty Feast for the second year in a row. After Melissa Giglio of Columbia, SC studied metal design, she sought a more refined touch, which lead to the creation of her handmade jewelry shop. Giglio combines metals with materials like howlite and white druzy quartz to create necklaces, earrings and rings that are simply sophisticated.

Regional Vendor Spotlight: Handmade Matters, Charlotte, N.C.

Aubrey Magistro, the mind behind Charlotte’s Handmade Matters print shop, is heading to Crafty Feast for the first time this year. Magistro uses letterpress to celebrate and honor the long history of all things handmade. “Our intentions for Handmade Matters are not only to highlight the economic importance of these craftsmen in our society,” she notes, “but also to recognize the importance of the storytelling behind the things that we value the most in life.”
