Come Thirsty! First Annual South Carolina Brewer’s Festival Announced

Saturday, May 21—Noon to 6pm—Brick Works Park in Cayce, SC

The park at the historic Guignard Brick Works on the Congaree River in Cayce is the setting for the First Annual South Carolina Brewer’s Festival, according to event organizer Michael Biondi. The Brewer’s Festival will take place on Saturday, May 21st from noon until 6pm.

Biondi, a co-owner of Charleston’s Frothy Beard Brewing, said the Brewer’s Festival is a chance to “try what South Carolina brewers have to offer.” Craft brewing has grown exponentially in the state, and many of the beers have exotic flavors made from local produce (known as “farm to pint”). The Brewer’s Festival will showcase the beer from as many as 30 SC breweries, and will also feature food trucks and local artisans. Admission is $50 and includes a glass for tasting.

Brick Works Park is located at 190 Knox Abbott Drive, just across the river from Columbia. For more information, follow @SCBrewers on Twitter, or visit the organization’s Facebook page.

The South Carolina Brewer’s Guild is led by an executive committee made up of representatives from Frothy Beard Brewing, Brewery 85 in Greenville, Holy City Brewing in North Charleston and RJ Rockers in Spartanburg. Brook Bristow is the executive director of the SC Brewer’s Guild.
