Columbia Opportunity Resource Celebrates 10 Years of Leadership, Service and Fun

Columbia Opportunity Resource (COR), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that connects talented professionals in the Columbia area to diverse and meaningful networks for leadership, service and fun, will celebrate its tenth anniversary on March 25 at 5:30 p.m. at the Agape Conference Center in downtown Columbia.  The organization’s annual celebration, known as CORrelate, will feature WACH Fox news anchor Tyler Ryan as master of ceremonies.

In celebration of its tenth anniversary, COR will recognize individuals and organizations that have demonstrated their commitment to making the Columbia area a more vibrant place to live, work and play.  COR will honor Columbia City Councilwoman Tameika Isaac Devine and former Councilman Daniel Rickenmann, the founding co-chairs of COR, with the organization’s Visionary Award.  Additional award recipients include:

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina | Talent Magnet

This award recognizes a business that has significantly invested in the recruitment, engagement and retention of talented professionals in the Columbia area.

EngenuitySC | Impact Columbia

This award highlights an organization that has impacted the Columbia area by transforming the community’s civic, cultural, or economic landscape.

Central Carolina Community Foundation | Make a Difference

This award honors a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that is making a difference in the Columbia area through its humanitarian efforts and its dedication to improving the quality of life in our community.

Anissa Floyd joined COR as its Executive Director in late 2013.  She is proud of the organization’s many accomplishments over the last decade and believes that the award recipients reflect the values upon which COR was founded.  “COR is the premiere organization in the Columbia area for talented professionals,” Floyd said.  “As COR celebrates its tenth anniversary, it is an ideal time for us to reflect on the vital role our organization has played in cultivating the current leaders of our community’s venerable institutions.  We look forward to ushering in a new era with a renewed commitment to our mission and to our members.”

CORrelate tickets are available for purchase at www.ourcor.org.  Event attendees will enjoy drinks, fantastic door prizes, heavy hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment provided by the Reggie Sullivan Trio.
