Closing Date Set as Richland Library Ballentine Preps for Move to New Facility

Columbia, SC– While many of you may be spring cleaning at home, Richland Library Ballentine is cleaning and packing in preparation of a big change. The location is scheduled to close 6 p.m., Saturday, May 13 as staff get ready to transition and move into our new facility.

While Richland Library Ballentine is closed, limited holds pick-up is available at our current location (1321 Dutch Fork Road) from 1 – 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. For our customers’ convenience, they also are able to select an alternate pick-up location by visiting richlandlibrary.com.

Stay tuned for details, regarding the opening of our new 13,000 square-foot facility, located just up the road at 1200 Dutch Fork Road. Customers can look forward to an artist and maker space, large meeting room, and outdoor patio.

The more than $5 million construction project was made possible by Richland County residents with the passage of a $59 million bond referendum back in 2013. We will continue to use that money to enhance our library facilities through 2017.
