The City of Cayce hosted its first annual Soiree on State Saturday. Roads were blocked off between Poplar Street and Railroad Avenue for the much-anticipated event. Soiree on State was a terrific evening for residents and visitors to celebrate the uniqueness of Cayce and all it has to offer.
Mayor Elise Partin said the event was a way to bring the city together and celebrate Cayce’s rebranding and the city that so many call home. She said the city was proud to have local talented artists and visionaries come together to create the branding.
The street was lined with vendors selling food, drinks, jewelry, and art. Local artists had the chance to display and sell their art. Many people shagged and danced the night away with live music from Sweet Soul Trio, the Amos Huffman Trio, and the Capital City Playboys. The soiree continued on into the night at Henry’s for the after party.
“We came out to the event because we wanted to support this new adventure the city of Cayce is having and to see what it was all about,” said long-time Cayce resident Patti Blizzard. “We like living here because it’s a close-knit little town with friendly people and quiet neighborhoods. It’s also close to shopping and the Capital but still has that small-town feeling.”
Soiree on State was a success filled with fun for all ages and an exciting look at all that makes Cayce a “Time for Life.”
