Cayce Field Days keeps children active during the summer

On Saturday, June 3, the Cayce Field Days event kicked off its first week at Memorial Park.  This free community event, coordinated by volunteers from the Cayce-West Columbia Junior Chamber, is designed to be a fun way to keep children active and engaged during the summer.
For this summer’s first Field Day, the Jaycees hosted nearly 40 children from cities all over the Midlands.  The day’s activities included playing soccer, kickball, tennis, and relay races.
Volunteers also helped children create their own free tie-dye t-shirts to remember the experience.
Anyone interested in signing up his or her child for this free event please visit http://register.cwcjaycees.org.  The next scheduled Field Days will occur from 10 a.m. to noon June 10, 17, and 24.  This is not a drop-off event; all parents/guardians must stay in the park for the event.
