Bourbon, City Roots team up for “BBQ and Brews” this weekend

Farm to Table Event and Catering Co will present “BBQ and Brews” this weekend as part of the Butcher Paper Series.  The event will feature resident chef Ola Helsing, as well as Kristian Niemi and Frank Bradley with Bourbon. River Rat Brewery will also have a bar set up at the event, which takes place at City Roots, 1005 Airport Blvd Columbia, SC 29205.
BBQ and brews will last form 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 17th. Tickets are $45 person and may be purchased at farmtotableeventco.com. $45 per person. Cash bar with beer and wine.
The menu will include Brasstown beef brisket with LowCo BBQ Sauce, as well as Wil-Moore Farms pork and chicken hot links with mustards and house-made jams, German potato salad, bounty salad, and Bourbon Budino.

Butcher Paper Dinners is designed to provide an original and unique Saturday afternoons this summer at the farm. This series of sustainable dinner parties center around one communal table at City Roots; surrounded by the farm’s beds of vegetables, friends, and music from our favorite local bands. Covered in a roll of butcher paper, the table becomes the centerpiece for family style feasts from some of our favorite chefs in Columbia. We’ll feature Crab Boils, Ribs, Pull-Your-Own Pork dinners and more. Eating with your hands is encouraged, and food is served directly on butcher paper. At the end of the dinner we roll everything up and throw it in the compost. No waste, just good food, good company, and lots of fun!

The Farm to Table mission is to bring together the community through agritourism, local food and local chefs who are experts in bringing the freshest ingredients to the table in creative and unique ways. Our events include the Harvest Dinner series, Rosé Festival, Annual Pig and Oyster Roast, Cream of the Crop Beer Festival, Dinner and Show Series, Pop up Dinners, Butcher Paper Dinner Series and the Dinner on Main St. Most of the events happen at City Roots farm, Columbia’s in-town, local and sustainable organic farm while also exploring locations in the city with other events.
