Butcher Paper Dinners is designed to provide an original and unique Saturday afternoons this summer at the farm. This series of sustainable dinner parties center around one communal table at City Roots; surrounded by the farm’s beds of vegetables, friends, and music from our favorite local bands. Covered in a roll of butcher paper, the table becomes the centerpiece for family style feasts from some of our favorite chefs in Columbia. We’ll feature Crab Boils, Ribs, Pull-Your-Own Pork dinners and more. Eating with your hands is encouraged, and food is served directly on butcher paper. At the end of the dinner we roll everything up and throw it in the compost. No waste, just good food, good company, and lots of fun!
The Farm to Table mission is to bring together the community through agritourism, local food and local chefs who are experts in bringing the freshest ingredients to the table in creative and unique ways. Our events include the Harvest Dinner series, Rosé Festival, Annual Pig and Oyster Roast, Cream of the Crop Beer Festival, Dinner and Show Series, Pop up Dinners, Butcher Paper Dinner Series and the Dinner on Main St. Most of the events happen at City Roots farm, Columbia’s in-town, local and sustainable organic farm while also exploring locations in the city with other events.
